Norman Jerome Sweat

Funeral service for Norman Sweat, 87, of Cache, OK will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at 8th and Lee Church of Christ.
Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
 Arrangements are under the direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
 Mr. Sweat passed away on Sunday, December 7, 2025 at his home.
 Norman was born July 9, 1938 in Monroe Michigan to Emory and Georgia Sweat. 

He was the seventh of fourteen children and learned the value of hard work at a young age getting his first job delivering eggs and newspapers at 8 years old. He continued working the rest of his life until two years ago when his illness made it impossible. 
He graduated from Monroe High School where he played baseball, football and ran track. He also played baseball for the Monroe Orioles Semi Pro Baseball team. 
He attended the University of Toledo before serving in the Army 101st Airborne 1959-1961. 
He married Alma Louise Walker on March 19, 1966 and they were blessed with three children: Michael, Tabatha and Holli. 
He worked for Conrail Railroad as Yardmaster for 21 years while working he completed his associates degree in History from Monroe Community College. 
In 1981 he moved his family to Oklahoma and went into private business. Alma and the kids ran the business while he continued to work at the railroad in Michigan until 1983 and then he joined them. Norm and Alma were entrepreneurs and ran several businesses including Pizza Factory Plus for 26 years. 
Norman loved books, music (especially Elvis), sports, (University of Michigan and OU), Oklahoma summers, working in his yard, but most of all he was a family man who loved watching his grandkids activities and being surrounded by his family. 
He was a member of 8th and Lee Church of Christ. 
He is survived by his wife Alma Sweat of the home; his son Michael Sweat and wife Jennifer of Cache; daughter Holli Ferrara of Edmond. His grandchildren Gabriel Sweat and wife Carly of Lawton, Judah Sweat of Lawton, Alexis Ferrara of Yukon, Elijah Sweat and wife Kat of Lawton, T Ferrara and wife Stella of Mustang, Raya Arredondo and husband Adam of Oklahoma City, Micah Tate and husband Hunter of Lawton,
Aidan Ferrara of Edmond Ok, Kenyon Sweat and Kayden Sweat of Cache. 
Great grandchildren Dre Gallegos, Dylan Kay Tate, Ari Arredondo, Toni and Talia Winkler and two more on the way. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, 9 siblings, his daughter Tabatha and son in law Tony Ferrara.
